Your First Visit to Our Tweed Heads Practice

The aim of your first visit to our office is for us get to know each other, and to enable us get to know your condition and whether we think we can help you improve your health.

To do that we need up to 45 minutes for an adult and 30 minutes for a child.

After welcoming you to our office, we show you an 8 minute video which explains what you can expect us to do with you that day. We then get you to complete a short form on your health history. This guides me on how to approach your consultation. During that consultation I listen to you and explore your health history, helping me to get an understanding of your condition.

That then guides me as to what examination procedures we need to perform to zero in on what is working properly and what isn't in you. These procedures involve palpation of your spine and other areas, and testing of some of your movements, muscle strengths and nerve functions. All are very gentle. None of these hurts.

When indicated, we then perform in our office spinal x-rays studies specific to you case. We take only those x-rays needed to better understand your condition and use special procedures that lower the x-ray dosage needed by up to 80% less than similar medical procedures. This is also convenient for you as you do not have to go elsewhere to have x-ray studies taken and convenient for us as we get exactly the views we need. In our experience, children require x-ray studies much less frequently than adults do.

That will usually be the end of our first visit together, as we need time to develop your x-ray studies and to put together and consider the information we have gathered in your case.

Dennis Asks some important questions of interest to Tweed Heads residents - Chiropractor Tweed Heads Dennis Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
